A store just for people who love cats.
I asked the Charlottesville, Virginia store owner what gave her the inspiration to open it and she said because she knew I was coming. What a delightfully strange and fantastic answer. It was pretty clear I was fascinated with her merchandise. Who knew there is that much cat stuff created?
I got a cat change purse (which I needed) and a dish towel (my addiction).
This is the face I found Matt showing when we walked out. I suppose Bridget did bite him in the face.
Lost my power last week during a nasty storm.
A giant limb fell, knocking out power.
For the last week it’s been gradually coming back on.
Finally last night I got my fridge back!!
When the power went out it somehow did something strange and electrical to only one half of my house. Based on my description can’t you tell I’m not an electrician.
Anyhow, this week has been a test in patience with lots of fast food.
When Matt was here this weekend we did enjoy an emergency hotel stay. What are you going to do? Lounge!!
I’m sure she tells the story every time she sings. It’s a beautiful one. Singing Fado with her late father when she was just five years old. In Portugal we happened into a late night Fado dinner. We’d been told we needed to hear Fado while we were in the country, but I thought it would be too touristy. Maybe it was, but the songs were just beautiful.
It’s a type of traditional Portugease music that is moving. The performers sing in rich tones words that speak of loss, sadness, culture and family. It’s sad music.
I even bought a CD. That says something, though we were too happy to listen to it during the rest of the trip.
A little listen….
