Just took mom to the airport. She’s been with me a month during the move up here to the Twin Cities. So sad to see her go. I cried like a baby all the way home.
We’ve had a blast. We’ve taken the light rail across the city. She has the best sense of humor and is delighted by the smallest things. Until next time.
She says she’s going to miss my city view.
Mom and I walked to a restaurant last night not far from where we are staying and also from where I’ll be living by the end of the week. We’ve been in a hotel for over a week.
Bar La Grassa was just wonderful. An Italian spot with dark rooms and the prettiest china. It’s in the North Loop area. I’ve loved having mom here with me to explore.
Just today stared at a picture of me looking so happy and young proudly wearing my Long Beach High School cheerleader letter jacket and then came across the jacket hours later. Memories can be so powerful.
Three days away from the move. Much more to do.
I typically don’t spend a lot of money on planners.
Actually, I never do, but I treated myself this week.
I’ve been trying to rely on my iphone to organize tasks and appointments, but that isn’t really how my brain works. (Not to mention, my phone is always dying)
I see my life in the form of a month at a glance and I really need it in my hands in paper form.
Enter this beautiful Lilly Pulitzer planner.
May every glance at it remind me of the beach and floral print.
August 1st 2014 will always be the day I walked into work an hour early. Normally a great thing. Not when that means you accidentally woke up an hour early at 2:15 AM.
I bounced into the station totally freaking out my producers. They just stared at me, and asked if I couldn’t sleep. Had no clue what they were talking about. Looked at the clock in stunned silence. Felt like a time warp. I still don’t know what happened. Why did I look at my bedside alarm and think, “wow! it’s time to get up?”
So now I’ve shown up for the morning shift an hour late (weather knocked my power out – resetting my alarm) and walked in an hour early. Pretty sure they cancel each other out, right?
Matt and I are meeting soon. We normally fly, but this time we are driving and meeting in the middle.
I was a bit apprehensive. I get so sleepy when I drive. So, Matt used a recent purchase to blackmail me. My chair has been at his house since I bought it in ATL.
